Founded in 2008, Abortion Care Network (ACN) is the national association for independent community-based, abortion care providers and their allies. Together, we work to ensure the rights of all people to experience respectful, dignified abortion care.
Independent abortion providers care for the majority of people seeking abortion in the U.S. – often serving individuals and families with the fewest resources and in the most rural parts of the country. As a network, ACN is a driving force behind the movement to normalize abortions – for providers, individuals, and communities.
Our members are local providers including small business owners, non-profit clinics, women’s health centers, family planning clinics, physicians’ offices, as well as researchers, advocates, artists, funds and practical support organizations — all working to ensure that abortion care is available and accessible in communities throughout the U.S. We are the only organization in the nation dedicated to the unique needs of independent abortion care providers and the communities they serve.
When you support ACN, you provide our members more than just educational, logistical or advocacy resources: you are helping us create a world where abortion care providers are accepted and recognized as an essential and integral part of their communities and the broader healthcare landscape. We are committed to bringing down the barriers that isolate, stigmatize, and silence abortion providers.
We are building a network of advocates and supporters who will weave abortion services, the people who offer them, and the people who have abortions into the fabric of our communities. Together, we are working towards a culture in which abortion care is accepted and commonplace rather than hidden and specialized. We believe this is essential to keeping dignified, compassionate abortion care accessible.
Abortion Care Network’s providers and ally members are imagining and working toward a future where abortion is available for everyone who needs it. It will take generations of work for us to build the abortion access landscape we want to see: it’s work we must do together.
